Discover Our Air Somalia Company

Air Somalia is a commercial airline   company   established   in   1999, with   charter airplane, and in 2001, the company took two Russian aircraft, type   TU154B-2   and AN24 as lease to own.

The company   initiated his operation between Sharjah, UAE   and Mogadishu, Somalia with cargo operation for   six-month   then   operated   passenger   aircraft   with   TU154B-2 to Djibouti, Mogadishu and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and AN24 for domestic flights over six destinations.

Air Somalia is a   non-Governmental   hundred   percent (100%) private   company operated by   the   experienced   Airline   employee   and   Somali   businessman   inside Somalia and Somali Diasporas.

The carrier was established in March 28, 2000. It provided domestic and international destinations with TU 154, IL18, and AN 24 network to the Middle East and Domestic flights passenger and international services to destinations in Africa and the Middle East. Air Somalia is now out of service and in 2002 the Air Somalia discontinued operations for security reasons.

Rehabilitation of Air Somalia Company is in its formative stages. It is being organized to take advantage of a specific gap in the short-haul domestic travel market, regional and international. The gap exists in low-cost service out of Mogadishu, Somalia. The gap in the availability of low cost service in and out of the Mogadishu hub coupled with the demand for passenger travel on selected routes from Mogadishu indicates that Air Somalia could be expected to capture a significant portion of current air travel business at that hub.

The management of Air Somalia is experienced in airline industry. Previously management was the managers, engineers, cockpit and cabin crew, ground staff, and handling staff of Somali Airlines, and thereafter North American and European air companies until today.

Our research and projections indicate that air travel to and from Mogadishu is sufficient to provide Air Somalia with revenues first full year of operations, utilizing five aircraft and selected

long and short routes. These sales figures are based upon load factors of only less than 30% in year one. Second year revenues are expected to exceed 50% with additional expanded routes. The Air Somalia plan has the potential for a more rapid ramp-up than was the case with Private airlines due to the nature of the routes, services, and the demand for travel currently in the targeted markets served. In short, the frequency of flights needed to serve Somalia, target market exceeds the demand that dictated Private Airline’s growth.

The first year of formative operations will burn cash until revenue can commence. This is due to the organizational and regulatory obligations of a new air carrier. Investment activity is needed to handle the expenses of this phase of the business.
